Mama and Me Brunch

It has been a hectic week filled with doctor's appointments, errands and many meals on the go.
We woke up to a rainy, cloudy, dark day and I felt we needed a good long hearty breakfast today before we are headed back out to finish up our weekly errands and even seeing one of my sons in a school play.

I decided to make a German breakfast with plain yogurt, Swiss muesli and Kaiserschmarrn. Kaiserschmarrn is comparable to a thick pancake and a popular dessert in Austria and Bavaria. It was exactly what I needed today.

My daughter's Din Din Platter Brunch:
  • an apple umbrella
  • plain yogurt with a mini chocolate chips rain drop
  • Naturebox Vanilla Macroon Granola
  • Kaiserschmarrn with powdered sugar
  • strawberries

My plate has also Kaiserschmarrn with powdered sugar, strawberries and a small bowl of plain yogurt with swiss muesli and apple bits.

Have a sunny day!

Super Lunches

My friend Sarah from Bentoriffic sent me an amazing Marvel Hero cookie cutter set from William Sonoma and we were excited to try it out today:

We packed our Easylunchboxes with:

  • Naturebox Cranberry Almond Bites
  • Green grapes and a cutie clementine
  • a Hulk and a Captain America peanut butter and jelly sandwich
and as always they have yogurt, ice water and today also the perfect Lunchbox Love Card!

Love these sandwiches! Even my youngest son wanted a Captain America sandwich and that means a lot since he really does not like sandwiches in general!

I packed him Goldfish crackers, apple sauce and one Captain America peanut butter sandwich. He also has ice water and yogurt.

My oldest son just wanted a plain lunch in his Easylunchboxes and so I packed him:

  • Naturebox Masa Chips and Goldfish crackers
  • a cutie clementine and green grapes
  • and a pepperoni and salad sandwich

My four year old wanted to pack her own morning lunch today - for girls without super heroes:

She packed grapes, popcorn and peanut butter and jelly bunnies :)

My favorite Subscription Boxes: Part 1: NatureBox

I love Snack Subscription Boxes. I really do. They are convenient and make it to your house even when you don't make it to the store and there is always something everyone likes. Especially me. I mean, I just love to open my door and find a box of healthy delicious snacks on my door step that I feel good about giving to my family.

And because I like  my subscription boxes so much I wanted to share my favorite ones with you. Maybe one of these will become your favorite snack box in the future :)

Part 1: Naturebox

Naturebox is a monthly subscription box that provides you with 5 full sized snacks for $19.99/month. Their snacks are made with wholesome ingredients and are minimally processed if at all and they are simply good delicious amazing.

This is what you will find in your Naturebox:
  • 5 delightful full sizes snacks and
  •  a recipe card with a delicious recipe using one of the snacks from the fantastic Laura from Momables

I always save my recipe cards since they have lots of information and a great recipe (and once you are a subscriber you have also access to the choose your own snack box - see below- and can re-order your favorites and the recipe card will come in handy again!)

So what are examples of Naturebox Snacks? You can see them all HERE and the above pictured snacks were in my January box! We loved them all without exception and have already ordered some of them in our Choose Your Own box again!

After you are a member you can choose your favorite Naturebox Snacks or those your friends are raving about starting with your second box. Since you should try some snacks first before you build your own :)

Your Choose Your Own Snacks box will just contain your snacks and no recipe card. We choose our all time favorites which were:

  • Masa Chips (of course! and yes, I was tempted to just order five bags of those, lol)
  • Cranberry Almond Bites
  • Cinnamon Spiced Almonds
  • Cashew Power Clusters and
  • Dark Chocolate Berry Trail Mix, yum!

And for Easter NatureBox is also offering a great 7 snack deal so you can share with everyone in your family and maybe even friends and family from out of town without having to become a member!! It is a one box deal and a great way to see if you love NatureBox as much as we do!

We love Naturebox and my kids love finding Naturebox treats in their lunchboxes!

To be continued...

Look for Part 2 of our series about Subscription Boxes next week!

Valentine's Lunch

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day!
My kids are getting bigger and the boys did not want any "frilly" Valentine's Lunches this year so I tried to keep it simple and used melted chocolate to decorate ;)

First I melted some chocolate and piped simple chocolate hearts onto parchment paper. It is really easy and I did it this morning while having coffee and popped them in the freezer for a couple of minutes to harden.

For the two older boys I packed Easylunchboxes with Naturebox Cranberry Almond Bites, a half a red pear with a small hear cut out and heart shaped peanut butter and jelly pocket sandwiches. I decorated the sandwich with a small amount of chocolate and added a few of the chocolate hearts I had made earlier. Of course, as always, we packed ice water and yogurt as well!

For my youngest son I packed our yumbox with a cereal bar, mini heart sandwiches, a few Naturebox Cranberry Almond bites, apple pieces, carrots with an apple and carrot heart, a mini apple skewer and half a red pear with a heart cut out. I added a few chocolate hearts as well for decoration and he loved it when he saw it before school :)

I also added some Lunchbox Love Cards to sweeten their lunches and cannot wait to hear what their trivia was today!

Rainy Day Lunch

It is raining but I am not complaining because I know it is snowing many other places!
It is gloomy, cold and rainy and I packed a cheery fish lunch in the hopes it brings back the sun :)
You can even see the rain drops on my ELB lid!

We packed our Easylunchbox with sweet strawberries, orange slices, Naturebox Cranberry Almond bites and two Lunch Punch fish sandwiches with candy eyes.

Elephants & Pandas

Lunches were packed fast this morning since we all woke up feeling tired.
Coffee here I come!

My son wanted a lunch similar to this yubo lunch so packed him vanilla yogurt, chocolate shavings and Naturebox Orange Crush Granola and a Lunch Punch Elephant sandwich with a chocolate chip eye standing on a vanilla chocolate chip cereal bar. He also brough ice water in a thermos!

We also packed our new yumbox today which seems perfect so far for my small appetite first grader! He chose vanilla yogurt, oranges, carrots and apples, a yogurt cereal bar and half a pretzel bagel with cream cheese for lunch today. I added a chocolate heart as a special treat for today as well. He has ice water in a thermos packed in his lunch bag, too.

I love that this lunchbox has so many small compartments! My son felt overwhelmed with the bigger lunchboxes and he loves this 6 compartment box. Less food but more choice!

Bento Lunch

Yesterday's Sushi in a Cup was such a success the kids asked for a bento box lunch this morning. We have some new bento boxes thanks to my friend Kendra and I was more then happy to use them for the first time :)

The kids got to choose their own lunch today and so we ended up with jelly sandwiches on whole wheat bread and a small container of Naturebox Cinnamon Almonds in the lower part of this bento box. In the upper part are garden cucumbers with carrot stars, three fun sushi shapes with nori faces and left over chicken fingers on salad greens. The sushi shapes are easy to make with a sushi mold and I used a nori punch for the facial expressions.

This bento box has rice shapes with nori faces on lettuce with garden cucumbers and carrots and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in the bottom part of the bento box. The kids also have yogurt, apple sauce and ice water.

Happy Tuesday!
