Bento Lunch

Yesterday's Sushi in a Cup was such a success the kids asked for a bento box lunch this morning. We have some new bento boxes thanks to my friend Kendra and I was more then happy to use them for the first time :)

The kids got to choose their own lunch today and so we ended up with jelly sandwiches on whole wheat bread and a small container of Naturebox Cinnamon Almonds in the lower part of this bento box. In the upper part are garden cucumbers with carrot stars, three fun sushi shapes with nori faces and left over chicken fingers on salad greens. The sushi shapes are easy to make with a sushi mold and I used a nori punch for the facial expressions.

This bento box has rice shapes with nori faces on lettuce with garden cucumbers and carrots and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in the bottom part of the bento box. The kids also have yogurt, apple sauce and ice water.

Happy Tuesday!

Dino Lunch

We made my Dad's famous German potato salad with German sliders for dinner last night and one of my sons asked to bring some of the potato salad for lunch. He picked his Dino thermos to keep the potato salad cool and asked if I could make the rest of his lunch match his thermos.

He is bringing a thermos with potato salad, an Easylunchbox packed with grapes, cheese crackers and two Dino sandwiches. One with a sliced up slider and salad and one with peanut butter for dessert ;) The Dinos have candy eyes and there are also carrot stars as decoration. As always he has ice water in a re-usable water bottle.

Happy Monday!

Stars and other things

The lunches today are lunches I made this week but never got posted. Above is my 5 year old's wish to have a Nutella man sandwich :) So we made a Nutella sandwich and cut the Nutella man out with a Gingerbread Man cookie cutter. He has mini chocolate chip eyes and a pretztel mouth. My son also got strawberries and blueberries, peanuts with some more chocolate chips and a small silicone muffin cup filled with Goldfish crackers in star and moon shapes :)

This lunch I made for my 6 year old who wanted a Star Wars lunch on a busy morning, so I just made a chicken and salad sandwich, placed two star crackers from the Goldfish Adventure Mix on it after drawing on eyes with food marker and of course we needed light sabers. Luckily, I found two and done was the Star Wars themed lunch. We also packed more Goldfish crackers in star and moon shapes and  Strawberries with carrot stars :)

Happy Friday and Happy St. Patrick's Day!
