Fast Food

This morning I decide to make use of some of the other lunchboxes we own  because I forgot to run the dishwasher last night because it is fun to mix things up from time to time!

We own several of these neat Sistema containers!

For my oldest son I packed a BLT sandwich inspired by KeeleyMcGuire's lunch on Monday, a mini pepper, veggie sticks, a small container with Sunflower seed crackers, 1/2 apple and as a treat two Spanish cookies with marshmallows.

For my second grader I packed a fish shaped sandwich with cold cuts and salad, oranges, strawberries, Italian cookies and Spanish cookies.

And since my First Grader just got a new lunchbox from his Grandparents in Germany we of course used that one today, too!

He packed apples, oranges and strawberries as well as no bake energy bites, a few Spanish treats and a chocolate spread roll.

Now, if only it stopped raining...

Happy Hump Day!

Smoergasbord - or how we made lunch by having everyone add something to the lunch

I had no idea what theme to pack or what to pack for lunch at all this morning but my kids came to the rescue! They all helped pick one or two things to go in the lunchboxes and that is how we ended up with this kind of Smoergasbord for lunch, lol.

Today's lunch is apples and grapes, veggie sticks, four mini sunflower seed spread sandwiches, sunflower seeds and sunflower seed cookies in a muffin cup, a mini yogurt and a half a cereal bar.

Faces

I made two different face lunches today. One very simple and one healthy.

This one is just very simplistic. I cut out the bread with a wide rim glass but a round cookie cutter works great, too. Then I drew on the face with some left over melted chocolate I had and let it dry for about 2-3 minutes in the freezer. I also packed strawberries and Veggie Straws :)

The lunch here has also Veggie Straws and Strawberries but I added blueberries on some simple bento picks and a lunchbox size cereal bar. The sandwich is cut with a square sandwich cutter and the face is held together with more bento picks. The eyes are blueberries, the hair Veggie Straws and the mouth is a piece of carrot :) I did not intend this but you can see some salad peeking out on the side that nearly looks like the ears of the face :)
