Muffin Tin Monday

Today's theme for Muffin Tin Monday is Nursery Rhymes.
We read about Little Bo-Peep today so I made my daughter a matching MTM:

  • Little Bo-Peep corn muffin with her hat and walking stick
  • a silly sheep hiding in Pirate Booty
  • Little Bo-Peep looking for her sheep in our left over chicken tenders
  • one sheep hiding in the grape tulips
  • one sheep hiding in celery and carrot flowers and
  • one sheep hiding in the vanilla yogurt pond

Little Bo-Peep has lost her sheep,
And can't tell where to find them;
Leave them alone, And they'll come home,
Wagging their tails behind them.

Quick Lunches

Time was not on my side this morning and we had to make lunches fast.
Everyone was helping and instead of the lunches I had planned we ended up with a quick Panda and a quick lamb lunch on the fly.

We packed CuteZCute Panda sandwiches for my 5th grader in our Easylunchboxes with sunflower seed crackers, carrots and celery with ranch dressing (in the panda cup) and popcorn. I also packed ice water and a frozen Chobani Blueberry tube (not pictured).

My second grader packed a half a Fun to Eat Fruit Apple, popcorn (can you see the peek-a-boo lamb?), a peanut butter sandwich with a sheep ring and a granola bar fence. He also has ice water and a frozen Chobani tube. We also added some extra love with a Lunchbox Love Card :)

Little Bites

Today's lunch is a variety of small servings of food packed to encourage the kids to eat a little bit of everything. I have noticed that sometimes their lunchboxes come back with one bite out of this and one bite out of that but nothing was really finished. Packing small amounts of a variety of different food groups hopefully will encourage them to eat more.

This lunch contains:
  • Pirate Booty
  • Apples
  • Somersault crackers
  • Carrots and celery
  • a protein cereal bar
  • and a graze apple&cinnamon flapjack
They also packed yogurt and ice water.

And I added a special Lunchbox Love Note as well. It has been a long week already and two of the kids were out sick but they were good patients and hopefully we can end the week on a healthy note (:
