Pantry Lunches

When life gets hectic and time does not allow for a trip to the grocery store, I rely on my pantry to still have some decent lunch ingredients.

We packed lunch in our Good Lunch Box:
  • Pirate Booty,
  • stamped peanut butter and blueberry jelly sandwiches,
  • all natural apple sauce
  • and a few almonds

Lunch in our Easylunchboxes ( I made two identical ones) contains:
  • Pirate Booty
  • all natural apple sauce
  • a peanut butter and blueberry jelly stamped sandwich
  • and a cereal bar
Still good lunches when time is not on my side :)

Rainy Day Lunches

We are starting the week on a rainy, dreary and windy Tuesday. I decided to brighten their day with colorful lunches and pack all their favorites.

I packed our yumbox with a blueberry Chobani Champions tube yogurt, apple slices and kiwi, left over chicken, mini ice cream shaped peanut butter sandwiches and some baby carrots with dip. We packed milk today instead of water.

For my second grader I added some sun with a funny Lunchbox Love Card, and packed his yubo with Pirate Booty and cinnamon almonds, puzzle shaped peanut butter and blueberry jelly sandwiches and vanilla yogurt with Naturebox Vanilla Macroon Granola and a few mini chocolate chips. He brought home made strawberry milk in our thermos Funtainer. Hope the sun peaks out for lunch!

My 5th grader brought lunch in his Laptop Lunches bento box filled with Pirate Booty and Cinnamon Almonds, apples (and mini chocolate chips for his yogurt in the mini container), vanilla yogurt and a nitrate-free salami sandwich on whole wheat bread. He packed some lemonade to bring summer to school.

Let's hope the rain goes away!!

Muffin Tin Monday

Today's theme for Muffin Tin Monday is Nursery Rhymes.
We read about Little Bo-Peep today so I made my daughter a matching MTM:

  • Little Bo-Peep corn muffin with her hat and walking stick
  • a silly sheep hiding in Pirate Booty
  • Little Bo-Peep looking for her sheep in our left over chicken tenders
  • one sheep hiding in the grape tulips
  • one sheep hiding in celery and carrot flowers and
  • one sheep hiding in the vanilla yogurt pond

Little Bo-Peep has lost her sheep,
And can't tell where to find them;
Leave them alone, And they'll come home,
Wagging their tails behind them.

Happy Friday!

We had quite a busy week and I am very thankful it is Friday. I am sure the kids feel the same and I wanted to pack them as fun end of the week lunch to brighten their day at school!

We packed our Easylunchboxes with yellow peppers and carrots, Pirate Booty, strawberries, a tangerine with a happy face, a sandwich wrapped in wax paper (so it won't get soggy since the strawberries are in the same compartment) and as a special treat a Milkini chocolate bar from Germany!

My oldest son also needed snack today and we packed his in our Lunchbot Trio: Carrots and yellow peppers on lettuce, crackers, half a coconut cereal bar and some American Cheese.

Have a wondeerful weekend!

A wormy lunch

The wonderful people from Fun To Eat Fruit send us a surprise package last week and my kids were so excited to get more fun apples in the mail!

They sent us two of their new designs (stay tuned for more fun to come) and today we packed lunch with a worm - literally.

We packed half a Granny Smith Fun to Eat Fruit apple with a cute worm design, Pirate Booty and a peanut butter sandwich with a gummy worm in our Easylunchboxes.

And the other half of the apple was packed for snack in our Lunchbot Trio with Somersault sunflower seed crackers and more Pirate Booty.

Little Bites

Today's lunch is a variety of small servings of food packed to encourage the kids to eat a little bit of everything. I have noticed that sometimes their lunchboxes come back with one bite out of this and one bite out of that but nothing was really finished. Packing small amounts of a variety of different food groups hopefully will encourage them to eat more.

This lunch contains:
  • Pirate Booty
  • Apples
  • Somersault crackers
  • Carrots and celery
  • a protein cereal bar
  • and a graze apple&cinnamon flapjack
They also packed yogurt and ice water.

And I added a special Lunchbox Love Note as well. It has been a long week already and two of the kids were out sick but they were good patients and hopefully we can end the week on a healthy note (:

Choo-Choo and the new EasyLunchboxes Mini Dippers

Happy Friday!
My kids requested a train lunch today! Choo-Choo!

I packed a 1/2 an apple with the letter T carved out for T-R-A-I-N, Enjoy Life trail mix, a chicken and lettuce sandwich with cheese and nori decorations and I used some pirate booty for smoke stack clouds :)

Did you notice the cute little container on the right holding my trail mix? It is one of the brand new Mini Dippers from EasyLunchboxes! They are wonderful! They are leak-resistant and up to three can fit in the big compartment of the ELB or one can fit in the big small compartment. I love them because they are easy to open for little kids yet make sending dip, sauce or yogurt spill-safe :)

Check out what my friends are packing for lunch with the new containers:

Sushi in a Cup

I was experimenting with brown rice sushi this weekend and even though my sushi did not keep it's shape the way I had hoped, it was delicious. The kids loved the rice and so I made them Sushi in a Cup for school today :)

Packed today is Pirate Booty, an all natural applesauce, garden cucumbers, dye-free chocolate animal crackers and Sushi in a Cup. The rice is seasoned with salt, pepper, sesame oil and mashed avocado and the face is made out of nori. I added a little ketchup for happy red cheeks :) We also packed yogurt and ice water.

Happy Monday and a hopefully good start into the week to you all,
