  6. Ooh, the peanut butter and banana wraps are a great idea, Carmen--I'll have to try that! My kids love whole wheat mini bagels, so I usually make their sandwich on that, with yogurt, fruit and a sweet treat, like a cookie or a kiss. It's hard to come up with ideas for everyday, so I love blogs like this to inspire me :)

  12. My little guy loves my homemade pizza pockets. I make a huge batch and freeze them which makes it super easy in the morning. I add fruit and water and he's a happy kid.

  14. I am a cookie cutter junkie, it turns our boring palates into something creative to get the day going. Monkeys eat sammies every day for school so PB&J, just PB, just jelly, just this or that...I eat salads most of the time again boring unless I play with my toppings :)

  16. My daughter loves crackers and turkey pepperoni, just like a "real" lunchable. She will get yogurt or applesauce, fruit or carrots, and a 100% juice pouch (we like the Landers Disney ones).

    Packing lunches is really the only thing I'm looking forward to about back to school.

  27. We have the YoKids brand in our local grocery, the sproutlets love the tubes. Pickle's favourite thing to take is yogurt, I think he could live on it. I'm slowly sneaking in the fruit ones!

  32. I love to pack leftovers for lunch any time I can. It's a fantastic way to save both money and time, and to prevent waste. I also love to pack special little extras to make the person eating the lunch smile. A sweet treat or a love note, or a sticker ~ just something special to perk up their day. It makes me happy to know that they are happy!

  43. I prefer leftovers or hot food..Like quesadillas...but sometimes my kids just want sandwiches :)...I especially like to pack a special treat, usually organic candy since we don't get to eat candy that often since it's not really healthy :)

  45. For my son I typically pack a sandwich and sides but occasionally he'll ask for quesadillas or mac & cheese. I prefer hot foods in mine -- especially pasta dishes.

  54. Gorgeous bento ideas. We love the annie's bunnies for gluten free options and various shaped crackers. I like the little bento sticks but hard to clean. I'm wondering if anyone has bento stuff cleaning advice. :)

  55. Dino is so picky! Deli ham, sliced cheese, and Ritz crackers for homemade 'Lunchables' - even if I send a Capri Sun juice and a snack, he still begs for an actual Lunchable "because it has all that other stuff already in it!"

  73. My daughter absolutely loves hummus (eats it with a spoon) so she usually sets hummus with cucumbers/sugarsnap peas. I usually but a cheese stick and a whole wheat muffin or lunchmeat/crackers along with it.
