BRAT Banana Lunch

We are much better today but will stick to BRAT for lunch.

You already know the drill: Bananas, Rice (reserved for dinner), Applesauce and Toast.

We packed our PlanetBox Shuttle with a fun Lunchbox Love Card:
  • frozen apple shaped applesauce cubes ( I found the silicone ice tray at Target)
  • mini toast crackers
  • a happy banana with a hand drawn face
  • banana sauce and - you guessed it -
  • toast cubes
If you cannot change the food you may as well change the texture! Banana sauce instead of a whole banana ( I just used a fork and a drop of lemon juice) or frozen apple sauce in shapes or cubes instead of a sauce.

Thankfully we are adding other foods to the diet since yesterday and will hopefully be starting with veggies and fruit again tomorrow.

Tummy Trouble Panda Lunch

One of my kids has come down with a nasty stomach bug and feels quite bad :/ So what better way to cheer him up then with a cute lunch!

Since we had to stick to Bananas, Rice, Applesauce and Toast my food choices were obviously limited. With a few cute addition this lunch still put a smile on his face :)

We packed our PlanetBox Shuttle with:
  • A Squooshi Panda filled with applesauce
  • banana slices packed in a silicone cup with panda picks and
  • a CuteZCute Panda toast in a silicone cup
Need more ideas on how to feed your child when there it tummy trouble?

Left Over Lunches and a Move

Hi, yes, it is me and it has been so long since I posted :)
I have been busy feeding my family but also planning a move and in the moment I am in between houses so please forgive me for not posting. Soon, we will be settled in the new house and I will have time to actually post my lunches and recipes again!

In the meantime, I wanted to show you an easy lunchbox put together solely with leftovers (moving means cleaning out the fridge ;)

This lunch I made for myself. It contains leftover veggie pizza, some leftover feta cheese, corn, cucumber and bean salad and a spear with left over baguette, butter and surimi. Easy and portable!

It's not Friday?

All morning I had that spring in my step only Fridays can bring. The heaviness of the week had gone and the weekend was just one day away - or so it seemed. Until, I wandered too close to the kitchen calendar only to discover in shock and awe that today was only Thursday. Sighing and feeling like this week must have an extra day I started to look for bread to make lunch. Matching this morning I discovered that my bread had a hole - an air bubble - all through the bread. Right through the middle. But then it hit me. We could turn this day around with a little fun. And so the " What do you mean, it's not Friday? Bread" was created ;)

Lunch already brough early morning giggles from my kids! I packed Goldfish Adventure crackers, a yogurt and blueberries on garden bento picks, well, and of course our shocked bread.

Here is to a happy Thursday!
